EYMERIC FRANÇOIS SHOWCASES HIS DESIGNS AT DS WORLD PARIS

From Saturday 17 September to 31 December 2016, French couture designer Eymeric François takes over DS WORLD PARIS for a first-of-its kind exhibition.
Sketches, shots of fashion shows, the exhibition of couture designs, and much more, will transport visitors to the heart of the Parisian fashion house that recently celebrated 16 years of existence.
Eymeric François and DS Automobiles, a winning combination, recently recognised as such at the Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille Concours d’Elégance competition. Today, the two have come together to present an exhibition that will immerse visitors in a world of sophistication and elegance – a world permeated by the avant-garde spirit of these two brands.
Come along to 33 rue François 1er in Paris. Free admission.
“The DS brand and Eymeric François share the same taste for elegance, sophistication and modernity. What makes them stand out most is without doubt that impulse that drives them to ceaselessly explore new materials and new methods. The constant desire to bring that special something to their designs gives the two French brands their unique identity and strong personality,” says Julian Faux, Director of DS WORLD PARIS.
MAKING OBJECTS UNIQUE – A DESIRE SHARED BY DS AUTOMOBILES AND EYMERIC FRANÇOIS
After joining forces with Eymeric François for two years running at the Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille Concours d’Élégance competition, DS Automobiles is now hosting the designer at DS WORLD PARIS and is presenting a first-of-its-kind exhibition showcasing his know-how alongside DS models.
For Eymeric François, the DS brand has “the same desire as me to glorify, sculpt and make objects unique.”
The exhibition on the couture designer shines a light on his work with materials through 21 robes on display. The public will also be able to discover the designs that have marked this Parisian fashion house’s 16 years of existence, though a projection of its fashion shows.
Throughout his career, Eymeric François has endeavoured to enhance his designs using unexpected objects which have become the designer’s fetishes, such as needles, zips and even elastic bands. Such are the origins of the little, tailored dress from the VAMPIRES collection, the 2,600 brass pins of which outline the body and curves, and the white and gold sheath dress from the ELFELINES collection, made entirely of zips without any additional fabric whatsoever. Designs that can be identified straight off! In the same way, the DS brand has continually produced high quality, authentic materials that it enhances by creating exclusive finishes, like, for example, that of its “bracelet” semi-aniline leather seats available on each of its models.
The sketches exhibited, drawn by Eymeric François, showcase the obsessive and meticulous work of the designer. Like a figure sculptor, he draws the outline and then adds its contours and curves. He nips in the waist, gives the hips generous curves and forms the décolletage like a textile architect. The DS brand also adopts unique style codes, giving curves to surfaces, bestowing their designs with bold and sensual lines and adorning them in deep, subtle colours.
A must-see exhibition from Saturday 17 September to 31 December 2016. Open Monday to Saturday. Free admission.
