Competition spirit

Three months after its reveal at the Paris Motor Show, the DS 19 made its debut in the prestigious Monte-Carlo Rally in January 1956. It was the top-ranking French car, finishing seventh overall and first in the category of cars from 1300 to 2000 cc. All six cars entered in the rally made the finishing line.

An impressive racer

In 1959 the team of Coltelloni-Alexandre-Desrosiers drove the ID 19 to a first-place finish in the overall standings. That same year, the Brand won the Manufacturers’ Cup. Over the years consistently finished in the top positions.

 

Monte-carlo rallye champion

Odyssey-Competition_Rallye-de-Monte-Carlo-1963In 1966, the “21” version of the DS won the Monte-Carlo Rally with the Finnish team of Pauli Toivonen-Ensio Mikander at the wheel. Peerlessly comfortable on the open road, the DS was also a formidable racer!

 

Sébastien Loeb to compete at 2015 Rallye Monte-Carloin a DS 3 WRC

Odyssey_Competition-ds3Nine-time World Rally Champions and seven-time winners of the Rallye Monte-Carlo, Sébast ien Loeb and Daniel Elena are to return to competive action in a DS 3 WRC at the Rallye Monte-Carlo, the opening round of the 2015 World Rally Championship. This one-off appearance, at the most prestigious rally on the WRC calendar, will support the launch of the DS Brand.

 

DS brand and VIRGIN RACING, partnership in Formula E Championship

The Virgin Racing Formula E team, backed by Sir Richard Branson, and the DS brand, represented by CEO, Yves Bonnefont, announced on june 2015
a new partnership and the creation of the DS Virgin Racing team, taking effect ahead of the 2015/16
FIA Formula E season.The new partnership will see the DS brand, through its Racing Operations the Motorsport division, bring its
technological expertise in research and development of the race car, together with the design strategy of Virgin Racing Engineering, with the aim of delivering the infrastructure, racing experience and design and integration
expertise to compete at the highest levels and to win Championships.

Yves Bonnefont, CEO of the DS brand, mentioned, “The engagement of the DS brand in Formula E with our partner Virgin Racing is fully consistent with the Brand’s positioning.
